Equations of Love

Posted: July 7, 2010 in Uncategorized

I am a poor mathematician
My calculations so oft do err
In my equations of love and reason
I never should have found you there

But the algebra of my heart is
Not so complex, no infinities
With just one smile or one sweet glimpse
From you and all solutions mix

And if there’s any trigonometry
Or adjacent angles of love I see
The statistics and probability
There won’t be such as you a beauty

All logic dictates I should withdraw
But where can I find such formula
To forget someone my heart adores
Is like computing the impossible.

Paper Boat

I feel the earth rest on my palm
Each time I see your face so kind
An alto so serene and calm
Along a choral piece divine

The rarest smile I’ve ever seen
Your eyes and lips the origin
Amidst the highway of my dreams
The mem’ry of your smile screams

You make my heart skip and hop
Like bulls inside a china shop
Not knowing where to find retreat
As love creeps in on little cat feet

Your beauty blighted all my hopes
To escape this cruise of paper boats
On silver seas with love so deep
Toward your heart I long to keep.
